At Dribbble, we believe in the power of communication and collaboration while also maintaining a safe and respectful community. That's why we have a human-powered moderation system that reviews most initial inquiries sent to our designers.
Types of Messages We Allow
Our team works diligently to ensure that all valuable and relevant messages are delivered to your inbox. These messages could include:
- Full-time and freelance work opportunities
- Personal messages
- Questions about your work
- Any non-malicious message with unknown intent, for example: "hey!" or "app project". While these messages may be frustrating and appear low-quality, we don't want to stand in the way of any interaction that could have potential for your business.
Types of Messages We Don’t Allow
We strive to ensure your inbox is a safe and respectful space by actively blocking these types of messages:
- Nonsense or ‘test’ messages
- Messages offering products or services
- Any mass messages
- Known scams. We're committed to spotting scams and keeping on top of the latest tactics used by scammers. Although some scammers are sophisticated and might seem genuine, so we always encourage designers to be vigilant and do their own due diligence.
- Anything against our site guidelines. We’ll block any illegal, profane, offensive or pornographic content. We will also block any message that appears to be bullying or harassment.
⚠️ Users found sending these messages may also face permanent suspension on Dribbble.
Message Management and Reporting
Every inbox has message management features that we encourage all designers to use. The more you use these features, the more refined our moderation will become. Here's when and how to use each:
- Delete: For low-quality but non-malicious messages.
- Archive: For older conversations, you want to refer back to.
- Report: For any abuse, including scams and advertisements. We review every message reported as spam and use this information for moderation team training. (How to Report a Message)
